Introduction

Prior to coming to the Bar Kieran gained invaluable experience as a legal assistant on the team of a Belfast based solicitor's firm representing the majority of the families of those killed and the wounded at the Bloody Sunday Inquiry. One aspect of that role involved judicial reviews in the Courts of Appeal in London and Belfast, most notably R v Lord Saville & Others (ex. parte A & Others) [2000] 1 WLR 1855.

Having experience in the Magistrates', County and Crown Courts, Kieran's practice encompasses Crime, Prison, Civil and Family Law, including judicial review and civil actions against the police. In addition Kieran undertakes prison law hearings raging from adjudications to challenges to recall before the parole board.
