Recent and significant cases:

Jamieson: Brain damage case. Motorcycle accident resulting in head injury involving frontal lobe damage. The Claimant was reluctant to accept the care which he needed. Damages of £1.5 million were awarded.

Fraser: Brain damage case. An 11 year old boy suffered a blow to the head when his bicycle hit a pothole. A pre-existing sub-arachnoids was activated as a result but not diagnosed initially. He had arrested mental development. Primary liability was in issue as was medical negligence. Questions were raised as to whether the cyst would have given rise to symptoms in any event. Damages of ?1.25 million were awarded.

Rothwell: Facial and upper body mid depth burns covering 36% of total body surface. This was the second highest reported award for facial scarring.
